Laurence Woollard has been active in patient advocacy since 2014, driving meaningful change through purpose-led collaboration and strategic engagement. In 2017, he founded On The Pulse, an independent consultancy focused on rare diseases. Over the years, he has led high-impact projects with industry and multi-agency partners at national and global levels, influencing decision-making across the medicines lifecycle - from research and development to access and uptake.

Through On The Pulse, Laurence has established himself as a progressive voice in the rare disease space, informed by his lived experience of severe haemophilia and deep expertise in patient-industry partnerships within the inherited bleeding disorders community. His thought leadership, showcased through international speaking engagements, peer-reviewed publications and media contributions, focuses on empowering patient choice and improving standards of care through evidence-based advocacy.

Beyond his consultancy work, Laurence serves on multiple advisory boards and committees, contributing to policy and public health initiatives.

He holds an MSc with distinction in Health Policy from Imperial College London.
