ABPI Rare Disease Day commentary – Equity in the age of advanced therapies

On The Pulse Director, Laurence Woollard, MSc, has written a commentary for the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) in recognition of Rare Disease Day 2026, which this year focuses on equity.

Titled ‘Equity in the age of advanced therapies: insights from haemophilia’, the piece examines how advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs), including gene and cell therapies, are entering routine NHS care – using haemophilia as a lens to explore questions of access, benefit–risk and real-world implementation.
